Welcome to 2011! What will it bring us? Have you sat down and written down some goals of what you want to achieve this year? Maybe a mission trip is on your list?
There have been many comments about the positive and negative impact of short term mission. The attitude you bring to mission is what is most important. If you can adopt the “it’s not about me” approach then you will do good things and bless others!
Need more reasons why you should get up and go?
1. See the world - So it's not exactly a holiday, in fact, you'll probably work harder than you ever have before, but if you like to travel and are excited by the prospect of a new adventure, a mission trip could be just what you're looking for.
2. Find out what you're made of - Do you have what it takes to get the job done? When you achieve results with limited resources, a sense of accomplishment isn't the only thing you'll gain - you'll have bragging rights too!
3. Have a story to tell - You'll be the most interesting person in the room when you share your experiences working on a mission.
4. Meet new people - Tired of your co-workers? Meet new ones on a mission trip! You'll build relationships that will last a lifetime. (But eventually you will have to go back to your co-workers!)
5. Oh, and you just might do something good!
Mission Travel is planning a number of independent mission trips in 2011.
